This project presents a strategic vision for the Morsenchio neighborhood in Milan through the lens of the 15-Minute City (15mc) concept, which aims to ensure that residents can access essential services, work opportunities, and leisure spaces within a short walk or bike ride. By combining historical research, socio-economic analysis, and community perspectives, the project highlights the evolution of Morsenchio and identifies the values and challenges that shape its identity.
The work examines housing, mobility, retail, services, and public spaces to uncover both resources and shortcomings, while also exploring governance and participatory approaches that could foster more resilient development. Building on these insights, the project proposes strategies to redefine Morsenchio’s identity within the 15mc framework—enhancing accessibility, strengthening community connections, and promoting sustainability. The resulting proposal provides not only a roadmap for Morsenchio’s transformation but also broader reflections on how the 15-Minute City can be applied to similar neighborhoods, supporting the creation of self-sufficient, inclusive, and livable urban environments.
